The VIAVI T-BERD/MTS-8000 is the world's most scalable multitest platform for high-speed optical network deployment, supporting physical, optical and transport/Ethernet testing in a single field-portable unit. The 8000E series mainframe accepts plug-in modules for a wide range of optical test applications including OTDR, dispersion measurement, OSA, BERT and more.

The 81MRDISPAP Optical Dispersion Measurement (ODM) module is the industry's most compact and integrated dispersion solution for field testing fibre-optic networks. It combines chromatic dispersion (CD), polarisation mode dispersion (PMD) and attenuation profile (AP) testing in a single plug-in, enabling complete fibre characterisation in a single connection. It is designed to qualify CWDM/DWDM and ROADM network fibre for transmission speeds of 40 Gb/s and higher.

The 81BBS2A is a broadband optical source module covering the full OESCL band (1260–1640 nm), used in conjunction with the ODM module to drive CD, PMD and AP measurements.
