The Viavi (formerly JDSU) P5000i is a professional-grade digital fibre inspection probe designed for inspecting the end-face geometry and cleanliness of fibre optic connectors. It is widely used by field technicians, network installers, and laboratory engineers to ensure connector end-faces meet industry cleanliness standards before mating, helping to prevent signal loss and network faults caused by contaminated or damaged fibres.

The P5000i connects to a compatible Viavi display unit and delivers high-resolution images of connector end-faces. It uses an interchangeable tip system to support a wide range of connector formats including SC, LC, ST, FC, and MU types.
