This Viavi JDSU OTU-8000E v2 system is in excellent condition and is supplied as pictured. It includes the OTU-8000E v2 base unit, a 12-port OTAU 1x12 optical switch module, and a JDSU E8138-C65 single-mode OTDR module. The E8138-C65 module supports 1310 nm, 1550 nm, and filtered in-service/live 1650 nm wavelengths with dynamic ranges of 47.5 dB, 47 dB, and 46 dB respectively, and is fitted with an APC connector. Together, these components form a capable automated multi-fibre OTDR monitoring system suitable for network operations and outside plant maintenance.

The Viavi Solutions (formerly JDSU) OTU-8000E is a rack-mountable, modular optical test unit designed for automated optical network monitoring, fibre characterisation, and in-service fibre surveillance. Its modular architecture allows a wide range of OTDR and optical switch modules to be combined, enabling operators to scale and adapt the platform to suit evolving network topologies. The OTU-8000E integrates with the VIAVI ONMSi network management solution and SmartOTU software to deliver centralised, automated OTDR monitoring across large fibre networks.

The OTAU 1x12 optical switch module extends a single OTDR test port to monitor up to 12 fibres sequentially, enabling cost-effective multi-fibre monitoring from a single test module.

The E8138-C65 OTDR module is a single-mode module designed for 1310 nm and 1550 nm conventional OTDR testing, with an additional filtered 1650 nm channel for in-service (live/filtered) testing. This allows OTDR measurements to be performed on fibres carrying live 1310 nm and 1550 nm traffic without service disruption.
