OTU-5000 Optical Test Unit

The OTU-5000 Optical Test Unit combines optical time-domain reflectometry (OTDR) and optical-switch technology to provide continuous OTDR monitoring of multiple fibres anywhere in the network. A single OTU-5000 unit, monitoring 72 fibres of 100 km and more, occupies only 1RU.

The OTU-5000 offers all the features and performance of an OTDR and an optical switch in a small footprint. It has the capacity to test up to 16 fibres of 100 km and more within only 1/3 of 1RU, with the remaining 2/3 available for compact optical switches to achieve a total capacity of 72 fibres. The OTU-5000 promptly notifies users of any degradation affecting fibres, complete with geographical coordinates of the fault location so that repairs can be made at the right place immediately.

The OTU-5000 is compatible with VIAVI ONMSi and SmartOTU software applications. The SmartOTU software allows the user to set up monitoring quickly with user-friendly software and no specialist training required. The ONMSi software enables a feature-rich, network-wide monitoring system with concurrent management of multiple OTUs.

Returns Policy

• Return Period: In the event of an item being received which is 'not as specified', you can return your purchase within 14 days of delivery.
• Condition of Items: Items must be returned unused and in their original packaging.
• Return Method: All returns must be notified in writing to hello@ttinstruments.com, the email should accompany the order number, date and reason for return and must be within 14 days of delivery.
• Restocking Fees: A restocking fee of up-to 20% is applicable for items returned for any reason other than 'not as specified'.
• Refund Method: Refunds are processed to the original method of payment within 5 business days of receiving the return.
• Exchanges: We do not offer exchanges. It will either be a replacement or a refund.
• Return Shipping Costs: Return shipping costs will be borne by the customer unless the item is 'not as specified', in this case we will arrange for the return by way of a prepaid shipping label.
