The VIAVI (JDSU) OLP-87P is a field-portable, wavelength-selective XG-PON power meter with through-mode capability, part of the SmartClass Fiber platform. It enables technicians to simultaneously measure and display optical power levels for voice, data, and RF video signals on a single fibre without interrupting live service. An integrated patch-cord microscope (PCM) allows on-the-spot inspection of fibre end faces, helping to eliminate contamination issues before they affect network performance.

The OLP-87P supports testing across B-PON, E-PON, G-PON, and XG-PON/10G-EPON networks, making it a versatile tool for service activation, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting. Its modern smartphone-style interface with colour touchscreen and rugged, weather-resistant housing make it well suited for both indoor and outdoor field use.
