Viavi Solutions (formerly JDSU) optical terminators and mating sleeves are designed to support accurate fibre optic testing in the field and laboratory. Non-reflective terminators are used in conjunction with OTDRs and other optical test equipment to eliminate unwanted Fresnel reflections at the end of a fibre under test. By absorbing the light signal rather than reflecting it back, these terminators allow OTDR measurements to be made cleanly to the very end of the fibre span, improving measurement accuracy and enabling detection of events close to the far end.

Mating sleeves are precision-engineered adapters that allow two fibre optic connectors to be joined together, facilitating low-loss connections between test equipment and fibre under test.
