The Viavi (formerly JDSU) MTS 6000A is a compact, modular, touchscreen-based mainframe designed for field testing of optical fibre networks. It accepts a range of plug-in modules — including OTDR, OLS, OPM, and other test modules — making it a versatile platform for a wide range of fibre characterisation tasks in access, FTTx, and long-haul environments.

The 8138 LR49 module is a triple-wavelength single-mode OTDR module offering simultaneous or sequential testing at 1310 nm, 1490 nm, and 1550 nm. The LR (Long Range) variant delivers high dynamic range performance, enabling testing of long fibre spans with high loss budgets.
