The Viavi (formerly JDSU) MTS 6000A is a compact, modular, touchscreen-based mainframe designed for field testing of optical fibre networks. Its open-platform architecture accepts a wide range of plug-in modules, enabling a single instrument to perform OTDR measurements, optical source/power meter testing, and other characterisation tasks across a variety of network types.

The 8126 LR module is a long-range singlemode OTDR module optimised for testing extended-reach fibre spans including long-haul terrestrial and submarine cable systems. The high dynamic range and exceptionally low dead zones allow accurate characterisation of splices, connectors, and faults even in challenging network environments.
