The MTS 6000A is a rugged, touchscreen-based portable optical test mainframe from Viavi Solutions, designed to accept a range of plug-in test modules for comprehensive fibre characterisation in the field. Its modular architecture allows technicians to adapt the platform to a wide variety of network testing scenarios, from access and FTTx to long haul and very long haul singlemode fibre links.

The 8126 LR OTDR module is specifically engineered for high-performance long-range singlemode fibre testing. The combination of a 43 dB dynamic range at 1310 nm, a 0.8 m event dead zone, and a 4 m attenuation dead zone sets a new standard in field OTDR performance — enabling technicians to pinpoint faults within patch panels, distribution frames, and long-haul spans with exceptional accuracy.

With a test range of up to 380 km, the 8126 LR is suited to metro, long haul, and very long haul network qualification and troubleshooting. Its rapid 0.1 s trace refresh time accelerates testing workflows significantly.

The LR OTDR module supports ITU-standard fibre qualification (G.652, G.655, G.656) and provides comprehensive measurement of fibre link attenuation, attenuation coefficient, reflection, splice and connector loss, and fault location — all as a function of distance. It is also capable of testing through PON splitters in compliance with ITU-T G.983.3, making it suitable for FTTx network deployment and maintenance.

The MTS 6000A platform further supports optional modules for chromatic dispersion, polarisation mode dispersion, optical insertion loss, optical return loss, and spectral attenuation profiling, making it a truly versatile all-in-one field test solution.

Returns Policy

• Return Period: In the event of an item being received which is 'not as specified', you can return your purchase within 14 days of delivery.
• Condition of Items: Items must be returned unused and in their original packaging.
• Return Method: All returns must be notified in writing to hello@ttinstruments.com, the email should accompany the order number, date and reason for return and must be within 14 days of delivery.
• Restocking Fees: A restocking fee of up-to 20% is applicable for items returned for any reason other than 'not as specified'.
• Refund Method: Refunds are processed to the original method of payment within 5 business days of receiving the return.
• Exchanges: We do not offer exchanges. It will either be a replacement or a refund.
