The Viavi MTS 6000A V2 is a portable modular mainframe platform from the T-BERD/MTS product family, designed to accept plug-in test modules for comprehensive fibre optic network testing in the field. The E8118 RLR65 is part of the 8100-Series OTDR EVO family of modules, engineered for single-mode long-range fibre characterisation, network commissioning, upgrades, and fault troubleshooting.

The OTDR EVO modules feature industry-leading dead zone performance for full event characterisation on fibre links as close as 2 m apart. A single connector port provides access to 1310 nm, 1550 nm, and in-service 1650 nm wavelengths, while integrated CW light source and broadband power meter functionality reduces the number of tools required in the field. Instantaneous, automatic traffic detection prevents accidental interference with live signals or damage to optical transmitters during OTDR testing.
