The VIAVI Solutions MTS 6000 V2 is a portable, modular field test platform from the T-BERD/MTS series, designed to support a wide range of fibre optic testing applications. When paired with the 8100-Series OTDR EVO modules such as the E81162C, the platform delivers high-performance OTDR testing capability suitable for commissioning, network upgrades, in-service monitoring, and advanced troubleshooting on single-mode fibre networks.

The E81162C is a 1625nm filtered Live OTDR module that enables non-intrusive OTDR measurements on fibres carrying live traffic. Instantaneous, automatic traffic detection prevents interference with live signals or damage to optical transmitters during testing. Combined with the MTS 6000 V2 mainframe, this configuration is well suited to metro and long-haul network characterisation, FTTH PON qualification, and Tier-2 enterprise and data centre fibre certification.
