The Viavi (JDSU) MTS 4000 is a compact, modular test platform designed for field technicians working on fibre access, metro, and PON networks. The mainframe accepts interchangeable modules, making it a versatile solution for a wide range of optical fibre test applications.

The 4136 RMP (Remote Metro PON) OTDR module is designed specifically for singlemode fibre characterisation and fault location on PON and metro access networks. Its filtered 1625 nm port enables in-service OTDR testing, allowing measurements to be performed on live fibres without affecting 1310/1550 nm traffic. The SMART TEST function automates acquisition and analysis, delivering pass/fail results quickly without requiring manual parameter configuration.
