The Viavi MTS 2000 is a compact, portable modular test platform designed for fibre network installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. It accepts a range of plug-in modules and is widely used by cable operators, dark fibre providers, and telecommunications service providers for OTDR testing, power measurement, and optical source functions in both singlemode and multimode networks.

The 41CWDM10L module is a 10-wavelength singlemode CWDM OTDR solution covering the lower CWDM band from 1271 nm to 1451 nm. It enables complete end-to-end link characterisation and fault location on active CWDM networks without disrupting traffic on other channels. The integrated continuous-wave light source with modulation capability shares the same OTDR wavelengths, simplifying test setups. The optional Smart Link Mapper (SLM) converts raw OTDR traces into intuitive event icons — splices, connectors, and MUX/DEMUX elements — reducing interpretation errors in the field.
