The Viavi (formerly JDSU) MTS 2000 is a compact, portable optical test platform designed for field technicians working on singlemode fibre networks. The mainframe features a touchscreen interface with a high-visibility display, making it suitable for a range of outdoor and indoor field environments. The modular design allows different OTDR and measurement modules to be fitted depending on the test application.
The 4126 MA SM module is a dual-wavelength singlemode OTDR module offering simultaneous or sequential testing at 1310 nm and 1550 nm — the two standard wavelengths used in singlemode fibre characterisation. The high dynamic range and extended measurement distance make it well suited to testing long-haul and metro fibre links.
