Viavi Solutions (formerly JDSU) Passive Component Modules — E9ERK36WDM1625-CL
Designed for in-service fibre monitoring in conjunction with ONMSi, OTU-8000, and OTU-5000 optical test systems, these passive WDM modules enable OTDR testing on traffic-bearing fibres by inserting an out-of-band wavelength of 1625 nm. The OTDR signal is combined with the live data signal using a wavelength division multiplexer (WDM), allowing continuous monitoring without service interruption.
At the far end of the fibre, an optional filter can block the OTDR signal where the transmission equipment does not provide adequate isolation. A bypass option can extend the OTDR signal across multiple fibre spans, reducing the need for additional Optical Test Units.
The modules feature low insertion loss, a wide and flat passband, and exceptional environmental stability, making them well suited for permanent installation in remote fibre test systems and fibre tapping detection applications. Installation is tool-free and takes only minutes.
