The E98OSX144 is a 1RU rackmount single-mode 1×144 optical switch optimised for remote fibre testing in dense networks featuring high fibre count cables and large numbers of FTTP service points in PON, DAA, and DWDM networks. A common input fibre can be switched to any one of 144 LC/APC output ports. Up to 31 units can be cascaded via RS485 to expand test capacity to 4,464 fibres from a single VIAVI optical test head (OTU or OTH). The switch is powered directly from the fibre test unit with no IP address required, making deployment simple and cost-effective. It is compatible with the VIAVI OTU-8000 and OTU-5000 optical test unit families.
