The Viavi (formerly JDSU) E126A-APC SmartOTDR is a handheld, dual-wavelength fibre tester designed for the installation and maintenance of metro and access networks. Combining essential fibre tests in a single compact unit, it supports OTDR, VFL, OPM, and other optional tools in one device. The SmartOTDR eliminates setup errors through generic or user-defined configuration profiles and provides automatic pass/fail analysis — making it accessible to technicians at any skill level.
Multiple wireless connectivity options, including 3G/4G via USB and optional Bluetooth/WiFi, allow remote control and data transfer to tablets, smartphones, and computers. Optional SmartAccess Anywhere (SAA) enables cloud-based remote access to the instrument. The onboard FastReport tool generates PDF reports instantly in the field. The integrated CW light source on the OTDR port and rechargeable lithium-polymer battery offering up to 20 hours of operation further enhance field productivity.
