The Viavi (formerly JDSU) E100AS SmartOTDR is a compact, field-portable optical time-domain reflectometer designed for the testing, commissioning, and maintenance of metro access singlemode fibre optic networks. The E100AS combines OTDR capability with an intuitive 5-inch touchscreen interface and SmartLink automated test software, enabling field technicians to quickly characterise fibre links, identify faults, measure splice and connector loss, and generate professional test reports.

The SmartLink software automates pass/fail analysis against configurable thresholds, reducing the need for expert interpretation in the field. One-touch operation and a single results window ensure fast and easy measurements, while generic or user-defined setup configurations eliminate setup errors and maintain consistency across teams.
