The Viavi (formerly JDSU) E100AS SmartOTDR is a compact, field-portable optical time-domain reflectometer designed for the testing, commissioning, and maintenance of metro access singlemode fibre optic networks. The E100AS combines dual-wavelength OTDR capability with an intuitive touchscreen interface and SmartLink automated test software, enabling field technicians to quickly characterise fibre links, identify faults, measure splice and connector loss, and generate professional test reports.

The SmartLink software automates pass/fail analysis against configurable thresholds, reducing the need for expert interpretation in the field. The instrument is optimised for singlemode fibre and is well suited to FTTx, metro, and enterprise access network applications.
