The Viavi (formerly JDSU) 8126B is a singlemode OTDR module from the 8100 Series, designed for use with compatible Viavi MTS and T-BERD mainframe platforms. It is built for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of long-haul singlemode fibre optic networks, trunk routes, and metro networks. The module supports dual-wavelength testing at 1310 nm and 1550 nm, offering a dynamic range of 41/40 dB respectively, enabling accurate characterisation of fibre spans up to 400 km.

With an exceptionally short event dead zone of 0.65 m and an attenuation dead zone of 2 m, the 8126B is well suited to dense fibre installations where close event resolution is critical. The APC connector interface ensures low back-reflection performance during live network testing.
