The Viavi (formerly JDSU) 8126 LR (E8126LR) is a long-range singlemode OTDR module from the 8100 Series, designed for use with the MTS/T-BERD 6000, 6000A, and 8000 series mainframes. It is engineered for installation, commissioning, and maintenance of long-haul and metro fibre optic networks, providing dual-wavelength operation at 1310 nm and 1550 nm.

The LR (Long Range) variant offers an extended dynamic range optimised for characterising long trunk fibres, measuring splice and connector loss, and localising faults on extended singlemode spans. As a hot-swappable modular instrument, it integrates seamlessly into the Viavi MTS platform ecosystem, enabling field technicians to perform comprehensive OTDR measurements without the need for a dedicated standalone unit.
