The Stryker Restoration Modular Revision Hip System is a comprehensive revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) platform designed to allow surgeons to independently achieve solid femoral fixation and restore hip biomechanics using a straightforward set of instrumentation. Launched in 2003, the system has been used in over 181,000 constructs implanted globally, providing solutions for femoral Type 1 through Type 4 revisions.

The Starting Instrument Tray (6278-9-900) contains the instruments required for the initial stages of femoral preparation during revision THA surgery. These starting instruments facilitate neck resection, femoral canal entry via the box osteotome, and initial canal preparation using the starter awls and reamer prior to sequential distal reaming. The tray is an essential first step in the Restoration Modular surgical protocol.

The system takes advantage of long clinical experience with distally fixed implants, while using modern technology to enhance proximal load transfer to the femur. By mating a selected proximal body with a selected distal stem, the system provides a femoral prosthesis that minimises proximal-distal mismatching. A choice of distal stem options addresses fixation and stability, while proximal body geometries allow for adjustments to anteversion, height, and offset.
