The Stanmore Implants METS (Modular Endoprosthetic Tumour System) is a modular titanium endoprosthetic system designed for the reconstruction of large bone defects, typically following tumour resection, severe trauma, failed joint replacements, or failed massive allografts. Distributed by Stryker, the METS system was introduced in 2001 and encompasses reconstruction solutions for the proximal femur, distal femur, total femur, proximal tibia, proximal humerus, and pelvis.

The SMILES (Stanmore Modular Individualised Lower Extremity System) knee is the platform knee component of the METS system. The knee is based on a rotating hinge design with a long clinical track record, and a fixed hinge option is also available for cases of marked instability or gross deformity.
