The Stryker Scorpio Xcelerate Miscellaneous Instruments Set (Ref: 8000-2011) is part of the Xcelerate instrumentation system designed by Stryker Orthopaedics for use with the Scorpio Single Radius Total Knee Arthroplasty system. The Xcelerate system was developed to provide a universal surgical technique compatible with both Duracon and Scorpio knee systems, combining user-friendly design with high intra-operative accuracy.

The Scorpio knee system, first introduced by Stryker Orthopaedics in 1996, is based on a single femoral radius design intended to address mid-flexion instability and improve extensor mechanism function. The single radius of curvature of the femoral component allows for a larger contact area, better extensor mechanism function, mid-flexion stability, and improved rotational allowance. The patented Deltafit keel is designed to reach dense cancellous bone to enhance fixation and improve stability, distributing load over a wide region to increase load-carrying ability.

The miscellaneous instruments tray supports key intra-operative steps including femoral impaction and extraction, tibial preparation, plug punching, pin insertion and removal, and component implantation. All instruments are non-sterile, reusable surgical tools intended for use by trained orthopaedic surgeons only, and must be cleaned, inspected, and sterilised prior to clinical use.
