The Fujikura 90S+ is a single-fibre core alignment fusion splicer that sets a new standard in field splicing, designed to solve common problems from splicing poor-quality legacy fibre to fully automated equipment maintenance and upkeep.

The 90S+ is built around Fujikura's Active Fusion Control (AFC) technology, which analyses both cleave end faces in real time and applies optimal arc power to deliver consistently low splice losses — even when fibre cleave angles are poor. Combined with Active Blade Management via Bluetooth connectivity to the CT50 cleaver, the splicer can automatically trigger blade rotation when wear is detected, eliminating the need for manual cleaver maintenance tracking.

Key features include an automated wind protector and fibre retention clamps that allow the entire splice cycle — from fibre placement to sleeve shrink — to complete without the operator needing to touch the machine. The universal sheath clamp handles both 250 µm and 900 µm coated fibres without adapter changes. A 4.9-inch adjustable colour TFT touchscreen provides clear viewing in all lighting conditions, and tool-free electrode replacement reduces downtime in the field.
