The unit was professionally calibrated in August 2024 and has been fitted with a new battery. It is a highly capable field instrument suitable for the installation and maintenance of antenna systems, capable of detecting cable faults, measuring filter and amplifier matching, and checking cable connection losses.

The Rohde & Schwarz ZVH4 is a handheld cable and antenna analyser designed for field use in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of antenna systems, feedlines, and RF components. With a frequency range of 100 kHz to 3.6 GHz, it combines multiple measurement functions in a single rugged, portable instrument suited to demanding environments.
The ZVH4 supports vector network analysis, enabling accurate characterisation of return loss, VSWR, cable loss, distance-to-fault (DTF), and impedance. With the appropriate software options, it also functions as a spectrum analyser and supports transmission measurements. The instrument features a large colour display, internal memory for storing results and traces, and a USB interface for data transfer.
Even in its basic configuration, the R&S ZVH detects cable faults, measures the matching of filters and amplifiers, and checks the loss of cable connections — the three most important tasks involved in setting up transmitter systems and putting them into operation. For further measurements such as the isolation between transmit and receive antennas or the output power of output amplifiers, suitable options are available to the RF service engineer or maintenance team.
The brilliant colour display is easy to read even under poor lighting conditions, with a monochrome mode available for extreme environments. All connectors are splash-proof, and the built-in wizard allows users to perform extended test sequences quickly and accurately. Test reports can be generated using the R&S ZVHView software.
