The Olympus FLUOVIEW FV10i is the world's first self-contained confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM). Its completely re-engineered, all-in-one design integrates all key components — including a laser combiner, built-in incubator (FV10i-W model), vibration isolation system, and light-tight cover — into a single compact enclosure, eliminating the need for a dedicated darkroom or complex installation. The system is available in two variants: oil-immersion (FV10i-O) and water-immersion (FV10i-W).

All components are fully motorised and software-controlled, including focus, fluorescence wavelength selection, and coverslip thickness correction. The intuitive FluoView software guides users through a simple Set–Select–Capture workflow, making high-quality confocal imaging accessible to users of all experience levels.
