The EXFO FTB-5800 is a Chromatic Dispersion (CD) Analyser module designed for use with the EXFO FTB-400 and FTB-500 Universal Test Platforms. It uses the industry-approved phase-shift measurement method, modulating a broadband light source at a high frequency and injecting it into the fibre under test. At the receive end, group delays across wavelengths are measured, and fitting equations are applied to calculate chromatic dispersion, dispersion slope, and zero-dispersion wavelength.

Designed for DWDM, long-haul and ultra-long-haul network characterisation, the FTB-5800 supports network qualification and CD compensation for systems up to 40/100 Gbit/s. Its patented design allows testing through over 120 cascaded EDFAs without any communication link between source and receiver. Tests have been validated through as many as 250 cascaded amplifiers over links exceeding 12,000 km.

The instrument is operated via EXFO's ToolBox software suite, featuring a user-friendly touchscreen interface, graphical display of dispersion and relative group delay (RGD) curves, threshold detection, statistical analysis, and report generation in PDF, Excel, or HTML via FastReporter software.

• CUSTOMS AND TAXES: It is YOUR responsibility to liaise with customs in your country and ensure your package is cleared and any taxes are paid.

Returns Policy

• Return Period: In the event of an item being received which is not as specified, you can return your purchase within 14 days of delivery.
• Condition of Items: Items must be returned unused and in their original packaging.
• Return Method: All returns must be notified in writing to hello@ttinstruments.com, and the email should include the order number, date and reason for return within 14 days of delivery.
• Restocking Fees: A restocking fee of up-to 20% is applicable for items returned for any reason other than not as specified.
• Refund Method: Refunds are processed to the original method of payment within 5 business days of receiving the return.
• Exchanges: We do not offer exchanges. It will either be a replacement or a refund.
