The Narda SRM-3006 Selective Radiation Meter is a compact, frequency-selective, handheld measuring system from Narda Safety Test Solutions, designed for safety analysis and environmental measurements of high-frequency electromagnetic fields. It combines the analysis features of a spectrum analyser with the simplicity of a wideband measuring set, and is specially developed for assessing safety in electromagnetic fields. Unlike a conventional adapted spectrum analyser, the SRM-3006 provides operating modes tailored to each application — measuring individual transmission channels and separate services including analogue and digital radio (TV, DVB-T, DAB), cellular radio (GSM, UMTS, LTE), and wireless technologies (WLAN, WiMAX). Results are shown as individual channel values and a total value, displayed in field strength (V/m), power density (W/cm²), or directly as a percentage of the permitted limit value per ICNIRP or national standards.
The SRM-3006 has become established as the standard instrument for EMF safety assessment tasks, providing users with automatic evaluations against human safety standards together with a specified overall measurement uncertainty — eliminating error-prone manual calculations. The three-axis (isotropic) antenna detects fields from all directions simultaneously, summing them with correct phase, making it particularly suitable for rapid, direction-independent measurements in mobile communications environments. Irradiation protection up to 200 V/m, a robust and splash-proof housing, exchangeable rechargeable batteries, integrated GPS, and a voice recorder make it fully suited to demanding on-site fieldwork.
