The MSA ALTAIR 4X Multigas Detector with XCell Sensor Technology is a portable, diffusion-based gas detector designed for use by trained personnel in hazardous industrial environments. It simultaneously detects up to four gases from a wide range of sensor options and is widely used in oil and gas, confined space entry, fire service, welding, and general industrial safety applications.

Combustible Gas (LEL): 0–100% LEL
Oxygen (O₂): 0–25% Vol
Carbon Monoxide (CO): 0–1,999 ppm
Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S): 0–200 ppm
Also configurable for SO₂ and NO₂
Sensor Technology: MSA XCell proprietary ASIC-based electrochemical and catalytic bead sensors
Sensor Life: >4 years (double the industry average)
Response Time: Sensors respond up to 2× faster than the industry average; response and clear times under 15 seconds
Calibration Gas Saving: Uses 50% less calibration gas per minute than the industry average
