This Medtronic Solan TONO-PEN XL Applanation Tonometer is in good working condition, fully tested and supplied with battery. A trusted handheld IOP measurement tool well suited to ophthalmology, optometry, and eye care clinic environments.
Included with this instrument:
• TONO-PEN XL tonometer unit
• Battery
The Medtronic Solan TONO-PEN XL Applanation Tonometer is a handheld, battery-operated instrument designed to measure intraocular pressure (IOP) in clinical settings. It provides IOP readings that correlate closely with Goldmann Tonometry and is intended for use by ophthalmologists, optometrists, and trained eye care professionals during routine examinations or when elevated IOP is suspected — for example in glaucoma screening and monitoring.
The instrument utilises micro strain gauge technology with a 1.0 mm transducer tip. Leading Edge recognition software ensures measurements are only captured at applanation, while ScanLock tracking scans electronic measurement data at 500 samples per second. Advanced microprocessor technology averages four independent readings and displays a statistical confidence index alongside the result on the backlit LCD, producing objective measurements less influenced by operator bias than Goldmann tonometry. The device activates with a single button press and requires only daily calibration — not between patients.
The TONO-PEN XL operates in any orientation, making it suitable for use on patients seated, lying in a bed, or in a wheelchair. Ocu-Film+ Tip Covers are used for each patient to minimise cross-contamination risk.
