This is the Marposs H1G1 Type 1 pneumatic plug gauge, a fixed-dimension air gauging plug configured for internal diameter measurement at Ø60mm with a gauging depth of 27mm. The blue ergonomic handle features a yellow model identification label and a strain-relief cable exit. The stainless steel gauging head contains the air nozzle(s) used for pneumo-electronic measurement. A long blue flexible air tube with connector is included for connection to a compatible Marposs air-to-electronics converter.

The Marposs H1G1 Type 1 is a hand-held pneumatic plug gauge for measuring internal diameters, part of the Marposs TPS (pneumatic plug gauge) product family. It is designed for post-process, high-precision bore measurement in production and workshop environments.

Marposs pneumatic hand-held gauges are particularly suitable for checking workpieces with very tight tolerances, from IT2 to IT7, with a surface roughness of 0.8 μm Ra or better. The measurement principle is based on reading the pressure variation proportional to the variation in distance between the air nozzles of the gauge and the bore surface. Measurement is performed using the balanced pneumatic bridge technique, with differential pressure transducers and electronic signal amplification. The signal is then converted from analogue to digital directly on board the air-to-electronics (A/E) converter. For tolerances outside the range of 6 μm to 60 μm, Marposs can design and supply dedicated custom-made gauges.

The pneumo-electronic technology allows dimensional and geometrical inspection without direct contact between the gauge nozzle and the part surface, enabling sub-micron metrological performance. When used in conjunction with a Marposs pneumo-electronic converter, the system guarantees maximum precision and flexibility for post-process applications following grinding or honing, match-grinding, or selective assembly.
