The N7909A power dissipator unit adds current sinking or two-quadrant operation to any Advanced Power System (APS) N6900A or N7900A power supply. Each N7909A provides up to 1 kW of current sinking capability to an APS power supply, so two N7909As are needed to achieve full two-quadrant operation of a 2-kW APS supply. Using a single N7909A with a 2-kW APS power supply provides 50% current sinking capability. The N7909A has a 1U form factor and full rack width. It connects to an APS power supply via a two-wire power connection and a communication connection on the rear panel of both units, enabling continuous two-quadrant operation.

Note that the N7909A does not operate as a standalone instrument and works only with an APS power supply.

Additional information on the APS’s two-quadrant operation includes:

The APS provides programmable +/- current waveform capability to fully utilize two-quadrant operation

The APS provides +/- current limit settings to ensure operation within device limits

By default, the APS’s current sink capability performs down programming to pull down voltage levels when connected to loads with stored energy, such as loads with large parallel input capacitance

These capabilities are also available with a standalone APS power supply’s 10% rated output current sinking capability without the N7909A unit.

• Shipping Costs: These are calculated at checkout based on the shipping method, destination and package dimensions.
• CUSTOMS AND TAXES: It is YOUR responsibility to liaise with customs in your country and ensure your package is cleared and any taxes are paid.

• Tracking: Once your order is shipped, we will provide you with a tracking number via email.
• Insurance: All shipments are insured. In case of damage, please contact us via email within 48 hours of receiving the product with photographic evidence, please also ensure a report is logged with the delivery driver.

Returns Policy

• Return Period: In the event of an item being received which is 'not as specified', you can return your purchase within 14 days of delivery.
• Condition of Items: Items must be returned unused and in their original packaging.
• Return Method: All returns must be notified in writing to hello@ttinstruments.com, the email should accompany the order number, date and reason for return and must be within 14 days of delivery.
• Restocking Fees: A restocking fee of up-to 20% is applicable for items returned for any reason other than 'not as specified'.
• Refund Method: Refunds are processed to the original method of payment within 5 business days of receiving the return.
• Exchanges: We do not offer exchanges. It will either be a replacement or a refund.
• Return Shipping Costs: Return shipping costs will be borne by the customer unless the item is 'not as specified', in this case we will arrange for the return by way of a prepaid shipping label.
