The Keysight Technologies N4985A-S50 is a high-performance, broadband microwave system amplifier featuring baseband RF (< 100 kHz) through millimetre wave (> 50 GHz) frequency coverage — spanning over 18 octaves. It is designed to be a multi-use laboratory RF amplifier, functioning as a gain block for frequency domain applications or as a time domain pulse amplifier. Its compact size and versatile performance make it an excellent general-purpose gain block with moderate power output in a single package, potentially replacing two or three narrower-band amplifiers.

The N4985A-S50 is an ideal companion to synthesised signal generators and microwave sources. Its small form factor allows close placement to the DUT or test fixture, and its high gain with greater than 20 dBm output power helps overcome long cable losses from the signal source.
