The Keysight M8051A is a J-BERT High-Performance BERT Generator-Analyzer module, part of the M8000 Series BER Test Solutions. It is an extender module that adds two additional BERT channels to a system built around the M8041A master module, enabling scalable multi-channel physical layer receiver characterisation and compliance testing. The module occupies two slots in a compatible AXIe chassis (M9505A 5-slot or M9514A 14-slot) and is controlled via Keysight M8070A/B system software.

The M8051A shares the same core feature set as the M8041A and is designed for testing high-speed serial interfaces including PCI Express, SATA/SAS, USB SuperSpeed, DisplayPort, MIPI M-PHY, Fibre Channel, Thunderbolt, 10/40 GbE and backplane standards.
