The E4991B with Option 010 carries a guaranteed impedance measurement specification at the end of the extended 7-mm test head port. This is critical for accurate impedance measurements, as port extensions typically degrade measurement accuracy — particularly when cable characteristics are not tightly controlled. The supplied extension cables and dedicated test head are engineered to solve this problem.

The compact test head can be positioned close to the probe station, minimising the measurement error introduced by the additional connection length. This makes the kit well suited to on-wafer device characterisation, MEMS, passive component evaluation, and other microwave impedance measurement applications.
