Kaiser RamanRxn1-785 Raman Spectrometer System with Laser Module and Analyser Head, dated 2007. The unit powers on and passes its self-test. The laser was tested by temporarily bypassing the interlock and confirmed operational at multiple output levels; maximum output setting reached 399 mW (rated 400 mW max). No further functional testing has been performed. No software is included. Sold as-is for parts.

The RamanRxn1™ instrument represents Kaiser Optical Systems' research-grade Raman spectrometer platform. Raman spectroscopy provides the chemical specificity of a mid-IR analyser with the ease of sampling of a near-IR analyser. The Raman spectrum contains features ideal for fast qualitative and robust quantitative analyses, often without the need for multivariate techniques. The sharp Raman peaks can often be interpreted in terms of individual chemical moieties, providing insight into the chemistry of a reaction and the extent of reaction progress.

This compact, turn-key system incorporates the laser, spectrograph, and CCD detector in a single base module. It is built around Kaiser's award-winning f/1.8 axial transmissive spectrograph — a design that is optically efficient and collects more than six times the light of traditional Czerny-Turner spectrograph designs. Combined with a high-performance 1024 × 256 element CCD detector and Kaiser's proprietary HoloPlex™ grating technology, the RamanRxn1™ is capable of fast, simultaneous, full spectral Raman data collection at high spectral resolution.

The instrument supports simple grating replacement via pre-aligned grating modules, providing flexibility for lower or higher resolution spectroscopy or application-specific gratings. The glass-encapsulated holographic transmission grating design offers both high performance and operator ruggedness.

Sampling is optimised through high-performance fibre-coupled accessories including the AirHead™ for gas-phase monitoring, the MR Probe for in situ liquid or non-contact solid monitoring, the MK II for Raman depolarisation ratio studies, the Raman microprobe for mapping and imaging, and the Analytical Sample Compartment for routine laboratory or QA use. Fibre optic probe technologies enable analysis of static laboratory samples or real-time in situ volumes ranging from 5 mL to gallons.
