The Viavi (formerly JDSU) T-BERD 8000E is a scalable multitest platform designed for high-speed optical network testing. When paired with the OSA-500RS module (part number 2281/91.57), it provides a high-performance, full-band optical spectrum analyser capability for CWDM, DWDM, and ROADM-based network testing.

The OSA-500RS is the high-speed variant of the OSA-500R series, capable of completing true in-band OSNR measurements in under 30 seconds using VIAVI's patented Optical Polarization Splitting (OPS) method. It is designed for field use with lab-grade optical performance.

The OSA-500RS is a full-band, ultra-high-resolution optical spectrum analyser module for the MTS-8000 / T-BERD 8000 and MTS-6000 / T-BERD 6000 platforms. It delivers true in-band OSNR measurements in ROADM-based and 40G/100G networks where conventional OSAs cannot correctly resolve overlapping spectra. Internal online wavelength calibration using a physical constant reference eliminates the need for factory recalibration, reducing service costs over the instrument's lifetime.
