The unit has been powered on and a preconfigured test was run successfully. Cosmetic imperfections are present but do not affect performance. Comes with a PC running a licensed version of Windows 10 with Horiba NexGen software version 8.10 installed. The exact model specification is confirmed by the manufacturer's label.

The Horiba Partica LA-960S is a laser scattering particle size distribution analyser built on the ultra-durable LA-950 platform, renowned for reliability and precision in both research and quality control environments.

The LA-960S measures particle size across an exceptionally wide range — from 10 nanometres to 5 millimetres — and features state-of-the-art optics capable of resolving nanoparticle peaks at 30 nm. It is suitable for a broad range of sample types including suspensions, emulsions, powders, pastes, gels, and creams, with an optional dry powder accessory (PowderJet) for powder analysis. Measurements require only micrograms of sample, minimising material costs.

The instrument delivers results in less than 60 seconds and offers flexible, fully automated measurement sequences to maximise precision and method compliance. Excellent reproducibility and unit-to-unit agreement make it ideal for multi-location deployments.

The NexGen software suite caters to all user levels: Method Expert guides new users in creating measurement methods without prior training, while experienced users can create turn-key sequences including custom messages, pass/fail repeats, and measurement averaging. Advanced users benefit from the Intensity Graph, Custom Calculations, and additional analytical tools. A 21 CFR Part 11 compliant software option is available, supporting user administration, audit trail, and electronic signature functionality.

Returns Policy

• Return Period: In the event of an item being received which is 'not as specified', you can return your purchase within 14 days of delivery.
• Condition of Items: Items must be returned unused and in their original packaging.
• Return Method: All returns must be notified in writing to hello@ttinstruments.com, the email should accompany the order number, date and reason for return and must be within 14 days of delivery.
• Restocking Fees: A restocking fee of up-to 20% is applicable for items returned for any reason other than 'not as specified'.
• Refund Method: Refunds are processed to the original method of payment within 5 business days of receiving the return.
• Exchanges: We do not offer exchanges. It will either be a replacement or a refund.
• Return Shipping Costs: Return shipping costs will be borne by the customer unless the item is 'not as specified', in this case we will arrange for the return by way of a prepaid shipping label.
