This compact tapered transition piece converts between a WR62/UBR140 circular flange port and a WR42/UBR220 square flange port, finished in blue-painted aluminium with ink-stamped model and serial markings. The UBR220 face shows signs of wear consistent with field use.

The Genex UBR140-UBR220/62 is a waveguide-to-waveguide flange adaptor designed to provide a low-loss, mechanically robust transition between two different rectangular waveguide sizes and their associated flange standards. One end features a UBR140 (WR62) flange interface and the other a UBR220 (WR42) flange interface, with an internal tapered section that manages the cross-sectional change between the two waveguide bores.

UBR140 (WR62) is associated with the R140 waveguide band operating from approximately 12.4 GHz to 18 GHz (Ku-band). UBR220 (WR42) is associated with the R220 waveguide band operating from approximately 17.6 GHz to 26.5 GHz (K-band). The adaptor is used wherever equipment with differing waveguide flange standards must be interconnected, such as in satellite earth station feed chains, microwave point-to-point link assemblies, radar front ends, and RF test benches.

The unit designation '/62' indicates the WR62 waveguide bore on the larger-aperture side. The blue-painted aluminium body construction provides corrosion resistance and mechanical durability.
