The Fujikura CT-08 is a high-precision fiber optic cleaver capable of cleaving both single-mode (SM) and multimode (MM) optical fibers. It is engineered to produce consistent, low-angle cleave surfaces essential for achieving low-loss fusion splices and reliable connector terminations, making it ideal for FTTH and FTTX deployment as well as laboratory and field use.
The CT-08 is an extremely rugged, durable, and easy-to-use single-fiber cleaver designed with the field technician in mind. The blade is retracted automatically when the top clamp is opened and activated upon closing, making this a true one-step cleaver. The top clamp opens to a position past vertical (100 degrees), allowing for easy viewing, cleaning, and adjustment of cleave length, as well as easier placement of fibers and fiber holders.
Blade rotation is achieved via a thumbwheel on the bottom of the cleaver — no tools required. The blade position indicator has been relocated for quick and easy viewing. The multi-position circular blade rotates to a fresh cutting position as previous positions are exhausted, extending blade service life and maintaining cleave quality over time.
Both the cleaver blade and fiber clamping mechanism are user-replaceable in the field, eliminating the need to return the device to a service centre for routine maintenance.
