The Fujikura FSM-70S is a fully ruggedised, core alignment single-fibre fusion splicer designed to deliver fast, consistent, and low-loss splice performance in the field or lab. It was specifically designed to be more ergonomic, faster, and more durable than the preceding 60S series, reducing splicing time to as little as 7 seconds.

Key features include a user-programmable automated wind protector that closes to initiate the splice and opens upon completion, and fully programmable auto-open sheath clamps to speed up fibre removal after the tensile test. The automated clamshell-design tube heater applies heat to both sides of the splice protection sleeve for a reduced shrink time. A mirrorless optical system and severe-impact resistant monitor greatly enhance durability. The unit withstands a 762 mm (30") drop test and resists shock, rain, and dust. Built-in video tutorials support on-the-go operator training.
