The EXFO MAX-730B is part of the MaxTester series, a family of compact, field-optimised optical testing platforms designed for fibre optic network installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The MAX-730B integrates traditional OTDR functionality with EXFO's proprietary iOLM (intelligent Optical Link Mapping) technology into a single ruggedised handheld device.

iOLM simplifies fibre characterisation by automatically detecting and identifying all events along a fibre link — including connectors, splices, bends, and breaks — and presenting results as a clear, intuitive link map rather than a conventional OTDR trace. This makes the instrument accessible to technicians of all skill levels without requiring expert-level OTDR trace interpretation.

The MAX-730B-M2 operates across three wavelengths (1310/1550/1625 nm) and features a high dynamic range optimised for long-haul and metro network applications. The 1625 nm wavelength enables live fibre testing on active PON (Passive Optical Network) infrastructures without service interruption, making it particularly valuable for FTTx deployment and maintenance.

With the optional IADV (advanced diagnostics) module, users gain access to enhanced measurement capabilities including more detailed event characterisation and reporting tools suited to demanding network environments.

The MaxTester platform features a large touchscreen display, long battery life, and a rugged housing designed to withstand field deployment conditions.

• Shipping Methods: We offer Expedited Shipping to all destinations using UPS/DHL/Fedex/Royal Mail and other reputable carriers.

Returns Policy

• Return Period: In the event of an item being received which is 'not as specified', you can return your purchase within 14 days of delivery.
• Condition of Items: Items must be returned unused and in their original packaging.
• Return Method: All returns must be notified in writing to hello@ttinstruments.com, the email should accompany the order number, date and reason for return and must be within 14 days of delivery.
• Restocking Fees: A restocking fee of up-to 20% is applicable for items returned for any reason other than 'not as specified'.
• Refund Method: Refunds are processed to the original method of payment within 5 business days of receiving the return.
• Exchanges: We do not offer exchanges. It will either be a replacement or a refund.
• Return Shipping Costs: Return shipping costs will be borne by the customer unless the item is 'not as specified', in this case we will arrange for the return by way of a prepaid shipping label.
