The EXFO EUI-89 is an FC connector adapter cap designed for use with the EXFO Universal Interface (EUI) system, which is built into EXFO OTDR and fiber optic light source instruments. The EUI system was the industry's first built-in interchangeable connector interface, allowing field technicians to swap connector types quickly and easily without specialist tools.

The adapter uses a push-and-turn mechanism to attach to and detach from the fixed EUI baseplate on the instrument port. Once removed, the ferrule end face is fully accessible for cleaning, ensuring optimal optical conditions. The adapter is compatible with both angled (APC/EA) and non-angled (UPC/EI) polishing styles depending on variant.
