The Chemtronics 38542F, also known as the EFB-11 Coventi V-Groove and Ferrule Cleaning Swab, is a specialist fibre optic cleaning swab engineered for use in fusion splicing and ferrule maintenance applications. Its unique flat blade geometry makes it the thinnest swab available for V-groove cleaning, enabling it to reach into the fine alignment grooves of fusion splice equipment that conventional swabs cannot access.

The polyester non-woven swab head contains no adhesives or binders, ensuring it leaves absolutely no residue on delicate optical surfaces. The wicking action of the head rapidly draws solvent into the tip, making it highly effective when used in conjunction with Chemtronics Electro-Wash PX Precision Cleaner, though it is also effective when used dry for removing particulate contamination.

The swabs are resistant to many acids and solvents including acetone, and are supplied in a rugged, transparent, field-ready tube for protection and ease of use in the field or on the bench.
