The Viavi (JDSU) T-BERD 8000 is a scalable multitest platform designed for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of optical networks. It is a multi-application platform supporting physical, optical, Transport, and Ethernet testing. The modular architecture allows over 40 applications and hundreds of test configurations to be combined in a single field instrument. The platform supports full fibre characterisation including OTDR, chromatic dispersion (CD), polarisation mode dispersion (PMD), insertion loss (IL), optical return loss (ORL), and spectral attenuation profile testing.

The E5083CD is the medium-range CD/OTDR module for the T-BERD/MTS-6000 and -8000 platforms. It performs a single-ended, full-band fibre characterisation from 1255 to 1650 nm at an optimised dynamic range of 35 dB. Using four CW laser wavelengths (1310, 1480, 1550, and 1625 nm), it serves simultaneously as a CD instrument, OTDR, and optical source. Applications include metro network characterisation and CWDM network qualification.

The E81PMD module provides polarisation mode dispersion (PMD) analysis for the T-BERD/MTS-6000 and -8000 platforms. It is based on the Fixed Analyser Method standardised by ITU-T G.650.2, IEC 60793-1-48, and EIA/TIA 455 FOTP-113. The module covers 1485–1640 nm and delivers fast, cost-effective PMD testing for metro DWDM deployment. It offers complete statistical analysis and long-term monitoring capabilities. The compact, rugged design with no moving parts exceeds Telcordia recommendations for durability and transport.

Returns Policy

• Return Period: In the event of an item being received which is 'not as specified', you can return your purchase within 14 days of delivery.
• Condition of Items: Items must be returned unused and in their original packaging.
• Return Method: All returns must be notified in writing to hello@ttinstruments.com, the email should accompany the order number, date and reason for return and must be within 14 days of delivery.
• Restocking Fees: A restocking fee of up-to 20% is applicable for items returned for any reason other than 'not as specified'.
• Refund Method: Refunds are processed to the original method of payment within 5 business days of receiving the return.
• Exchanges: We do not offer exchanges. It will either be a replacement or a refund.
• Return Shipping Costs: Return shipping costs will be borne by the customer unless the item is 'not as specified', in this case we will arrange for the return by way of a prepaid shipping label.
