Keysight 87104D — Multiport Electromechanical Coaxial Switch, DC to 40 GHz, SP4T

The Keysight 87104D is a high-performance, terminated SP4T electromechanical coaxial switch designed to improve signal accuracy in RF and microwave signal routing and testing applications. It delivers unmatched isolation and insertion loss repeatability, making it ideal for automated test equipment (ATE), signal monitoring, satellite and antenna switching, manufacturing test, and multi-port device characterisation alongside vector network analysers.

The 0.03 dB insertion loss repeatability reduces random measurement path errors and improves overall measurement uncertainty. The 5-million cycle switch life, combined with magnetic latching and opto-electronic current interrupt capability, eliminates DC contact failures common in conventional electromechanical switches, reducing calibration cycles and lowering cost of ownership.

With port-to-port isolation typically greater than 65 dB at 40 GHz, the 87104D eliminates the need for tree-matrix configurations, reduces part count, minimises insertion loss, and ensures equal-length signal paths for consistent phase performance.
