The Fujikura 90S+ is a single-fibre core alignment fusion splicer that sets a new standard in the fusion splicing market. Designed to help technicians work faster and with higher precision, the 90S+ features a suite of market-first fully automated technologies that streamline the entire splicing process. Active Fusion Control Technology (AFCT) analyses the cleave end-face condition to perform optimal fusion control and minimise splice loss, even when dealing with fibres that have a poor cleave angle. Active Blade Management Technology (ABMT) communicates wirelessly with the CT-50 cleaver to track blade wear and automatically rotate the blade when required, improving cleaver efficiency and reducing maintenance costs. The 90S+ achieves a significant reduction in overall splice process time versus the previous 70S+ model, thanks to faster automated wind protectors, an automated heater, new fibre retention clamps, and improved universal sheath clamps. A redesigned internal structure aligns the protection sleeve precisely to the fusion splice point, enabling hands-free operation once the process has started. The universal sheath clamp accommodates both loose and tight buffer fibres without the need for additional clamps. The 4.9-inch TFT colour touch screen with approximately 200x–320x magnification provides clear fibre imagery, and Bluetooth 4.1 LE enables wireless connectivity to compatible devices and the Splice+ smartphone application.
