The Bionano Saphyr™ is a high-throughput optical genome mapping (OGM) system designed for ultra-sensitive and ultra-specific structural variation detection across the whole genome. It enables researchers and clinicians to accelerate the search for new diagnostics and therapeutic targets, and to advance digital cytogenetics as a systematic alternative to traditional methods.

The Saphyr system images ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) DNA in its native state using proprietary NanoChannel arrays within the Saphyr Chip consumable. Hundreds of thousands of massively parallel nanochannels linearise long, labelled DNA molecules for direct high-resolution imaging. Machine learning-based adaptive loading and automatic run optimisation enable walk-away scanning with maximum throughput.
