The Bio-Rad Automated Droplet Generator (AutoDG, Cat. #1864101) is a benchtop laboratory instrument designed to automate the droplet generation step of the Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) workflow. It partitions each sample in a 96-well PCR plate into approximately 20,000 uniform, nanoliter-sized droplets in which nucleic acid molecules are randomly distributed. Every droplet serves as an individual PCR reaction vessel within Bio-Rad's ddPCR system. After automated droplet generation, the plate is sealed with the PX1 Plate Sealer, PCR is run to endpoint in a compatible thermal cycler, and the resulting droplets are analysed using a QX600 or QX200 Droplet Reader.
